Truly, this is without a doubt the most comfortable shoe I own; and, after 3 years of almost daily wear, they are still in great condition and the pair I reach for again and again. I can spend hours working, shopping, walking the dog, etc... without feeling fatigued in my feet, ankles, or legs. I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but the top of the shoe has two elastic inserts that allow the shoes to gently conform to your feet, and this makes a huge difference in the comfort and fit of this shoe, especially if you experience occasional swelling of the feet and ankles. I like trying new things, and I do not consider myself particularly brand loyal, but these shoes are the exception...I'm ordering another pair today, not because my old ones need replacing, but because they've lasted so long I live in fear that they will stop making this style. A+++
Perfect for painful feet January 15, 2010

I received my NB 811 slip-ons at the end of a long day when my feet were swollen and crying for relief. Between bunions, PF, and a recent stress fracture, it's tough to find any shoes that fit much less feel good. These shoes fit perfectly and provided ample support. I plan to take them on vacation, then store them until spring. Meanwhile, I'll look for a pair in black to wear immediately.
comfortable for wife January 28, 2010

My wife wore these when she taught school and for everyday. She stills wears them now that she's retired, it's a nice looking shoe, good support, comfortable, and wears well. She has worn these for a few years and this is probably her 7th or 8th pair. Cheaper to buy from Amazon, especially when you figure your gas and time to go out of town.

I bought the New Balance 811's about 3 months ago. I recently noticed a strong "male cat pee" odor on them. I do not own a cat! I have tried everything to get the smell out of them. Nothing works! So I'm afraid the shoes I paid $90 for are going to be unwearable. I have never had a problem with any other tennis shoes in my life.
*Please Note: I have contacted New Balance and they are aware of the problem with the earlier models of this shoe and will be sending me a new pair! :)
